Named the “Best New Restaurant” and “Best New Bar” by Charlotte Magazine in 2009, locals agree that Mez is the place to see and to be seen. With spectacular views of uptown Charlotte located in the EpiCentre, Executive Chef Annoosh Shariat has an affinity for combining European ingredients with classic cooking techniques and indigineous foods from the South. Try it for lunch or dinner and impress your corporate client with the fire-roasted mussels in a fresh tomato saffron broth and grilled garlic baguette for $10 or seafood stew, a melange of shrimp, scallops, mussels and fresh fish in a saffron stock for $8. For dinner, be prepared to break the bank with the Land and Sea for $45 or the filet mignon for $34. Top it off with an orange creme brulee for $6. If you’ve never been here, Mez participates in Restaurant Week and it is the perfect time to sample the menu on a budget. Adjacent to the Epicentre Theaters, it is also a good spot for a nice dinner and movie at the EpiCentre.Mez
