Classroom Central

Perhaps one of the most joyous places to purchase school supplies lies in the heart of Charlotte, just minutes from Uptown Charlotte. Classroom Central is a place where those that are not financially able to purchase much needed school supplies get the financial assistance and support needed with and for every purchase. In early 2000, a team of business leaders from the Charlotte Chamber’s Center City Area Council set out to provide free supplies to the children of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system. Ever since then, it has been a hub of supplies for students who would otherwise not be able to purchase the books, pencils and tools needed for academic success. Run by volunteers, dontaions and those with sound business sense, Classroom Central helps teachers and students purchase supplies and supplemental materials. Offering both in-store as well as drive-thru shopping, Classroom Central is a place where not only supplies can be obtained but encouragement and support for a productive school year!

Special Notes:
Teacher shopping is closed for the summer and will resume on 8/15/11. Shopping is by appointment only and eligible CMS teachers can begin making appointments for August on 7/15/11.
