Charlotte’s newest park is the site of an “eggstravagant” celebration of Easter. There will be live music, games, food and fun at this gorgeous Uptown spot. Even better, there will be a park-wide egg hunt for your children’s enjoyment. Romare Bearden Park has water features where your child can cool off after a challenging hunt. This is a free event, with no pre-registration required.

This is a fabulous opportunity to hunt for toys and candy-filled eggs in an historical spot. Children up to 10 years of age will be divided into age groups and given the opportunity to hunt throughout the plantation grounds. There will be live music geared towards children, food, crafts and the chance to check out the live animals that live on the plantation. The Easter Bunny will even make an appearance on a covered wagon. Pre-registration is required and opens March 1, 2014. The cost is $6 per child.

If your children are too blasé for an early morning egg hunt, take them to try out this fun activity in nearby Belmont. Toddlers to 10 year olds are invited to come (with a parent). Make sure they come equipped with their flashlight and an Easter basket. It’s great to search for eggs in the dark. Once the children are done searching, they can use their flashlights as a spotlight when the Easter Bunny makes its appearance.
