Nothing beats seasonal beer when the weather starts turning cold. It’s easy to get the usuals, but when it’s microbrew time, or when you’re looking for your favorite Oktoberfest on tap, that takes a little footwork. Brewpubs are the way to go, and these are the best options in town, offering every flavor you crave this season.

Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery

401 N. Tryon St. Suite 100
Charlotte, NC 28202
(704) 334-2739

Rock Bottom is uptown Charlotte’s only brewery. With more than 125 awards for brew-making excellence, Rock Bottom definitely never disappoints, especially with its signature beers and unique seasonals. If you have not yet sampled all of Rock Bottom’s offerings, it’s time. Expect unique twists on classic flavors and delicious dishes for pairing. The must-try: a specialty dark, a just hot enough burger and a chocolate stout cupcake.

The Flying Saucer

9605 N. Tryon St. Suite A
Charlotte, NC 28262
(704) 717-8179

The Flying Saucer, located in the university area of Charlotte, is a collegiate hot spot. With hundreds of beers on tap, sample and try as many as you want, and even earn a plate on the wall for the numbers of samples you taste. The place is covered wall to wall with people who have done this, but be prepared for competition as drinkers keep coming back to add to their records. Its a quaint place, with live music, pool tables and all, and it’s one of the top bars, and breweries, in Queen City.
