Sloan Boutique was opened in May 2000 at the Shops at Twin Oaks by sisters who ventured to help change the local fashion scene. Along the way, Sloan Boutique has “created an even more distinct fashion statement in the region,” according to its Web site. Ten years ago, the Sloan sisters started with clothing and now have a full arsenal of handbags, jewelry and shoes. Hours: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sweet Repeats offers new and gently worn mid-to-high-end clothing, shoes and accessories to its Dilworth clientele. The upscale consignment boutique, which was opened in 1996 by sisters, prides itself on a long designer reach from Armani to Max Mara to Yoana Baraschi. Hours: Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nitsa’s Apparel

Constructing its reputation on a “high level of taste in fashion, skilled craftsmanship, and honesty and integrity,” Nitsa’s Apparel was founded as a family boutique in 1964. The Phillips Place establishment is the embodiment of the company’s growth and offers top-quality designers for bridal gowns, dresses for special occasions and cocktail dresses. Hours: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Offering high-to-low-end apparel and rare, funky accessories for men and women, the trendy establishment has carved a fashion niche in the vibrant Thomas Avenue area. It has the feel of a New York boutique. Hours: Monday though Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
