Ultimate Fighting Championship bouts rank among the most popular pay-per-view events and are a major draw for bars that can ante up the stiff broadcast fees required to show the fights in public. The mixed martial arts format offers fans plenty of excitement, watching the best fighters in a number of different martial arts styles – including boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, judo, wrestling, Muay Thai, and karate – compete within an octagonal cage. Bouts are held world-wide, but typically air on Saturday evenings in Charlotte, with a pre-game show before the 10 p.m. opening bell. Look for Bud and Bud Light specials at bars during the UFC fights, as the beers mogol sponsors the broadcasts.
