There is something special going on in Charlotte and it’s not just happening at Mint & Morehead.
This past week a new proposal was presented to give the Charlotte Knights $8.5 million in city money to help build a new stadium uptown. As I heard this news, I thought, “Do we really need another stadium uptown?” Is this a good idea, or a shot in the dark to bring in a MLB franchise?
So last night I went to my first Bobcats game to see what all the fuss, or lack thereof, was this season. A few words came to mind as I watched the Bobcats taking on the Bulls: lackluster, uninspired and pathetic. So here is my recap of one of the worst basketball games I have ever seen.
The Charlotte Bobcats will host an NBA Draft Party on Thursday, June 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena, and The Drive with Marc James & Taylor Zarzour will be broadcasting live from the arena from 3pm-7pm.
Time Warner Cable Arena, built by the City of Charlotte and operated by Bobcats Sports & Entertainment, is home of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats, the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers and is the city of Charlotte and surrounding area’s premier destination for top-rated concerts and events.
Charlotte Bobcats played the Miami Heat at Time Warner Cable Arena on January 3. The Heat defeated the Bobcats 96-82.
