After an exciting finish to last season, Major League Baseball underwent several changes, including new stadiums, new team names, and players changing teams.
Fifty-one years ago, Major League Baseball’s American League added two franchises, including the Washington Senators, who were replacing a team that went by that exact name from 1901-60 before moving to Minnesota and becoming the Twins.

Boston was the last city or metropolitan area in North America to be the home of multiple championships in a season from among the four major team sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL).
