Forms Sent To 800 Victims Of NC Eugenics Program

North Carolina officials have mailed paperwork to 800 people who have previously identified themselves as victims of the state’s forced sterilization so they can verify their eligibility for one-time payments from a $10 million compensation fund.

North Carolina Refuses To Compensate Victims Of Forced Sterilization

The first serious proposal to compensate victims of forced sterilization failed Wednesday when North Carolina legislators said they were not approving any money for them. One ardent supporter declared: “At this point, I have lost all hope.”
