The Carolina Panthers can use every single able player they have to come out and take on the Atlanta Falcons in hopes of winning. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case as a few players are questionable and it’s just a long report overall.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Defense tackle Star Lotulelei says the Carolina Panthers defense is on a mission Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
I think most Panther fans believe that this defense will be a force again this season. But, there are a few who fear that they can’t repeat last year’s success.
Rookie Star Lotulelei is just three games into his NFL career and is already drawing rave reviews around the league.
Ok, so alot of these are ugly, but you need to know the truth. Here is a look at the Panthers after 2 weeks by the numbers.
James Dator, editor of SB Nation’s Cat Scratch Reader, joins Lewis to break down the Panthers’ draft picks and discuss what they learned about new GM Dave Gettleman. Was picking Star Lotulelei over Shariff Floyd the right call? Will the coaching staff be able to develop Edmund Kugbila into a productive offensive lineman? Should Jon Beason and DeAngelo Williams feel nervous about the A.J. Klein and Kenjon Barner selections?
Leading up to the draft, the Panthers’ first year GM Dave Gettleman made it known that he would build the team from the inside out. He preferred big linemen, or “hog mollies” as he called them. But we didn’t know just how much he loved them. And we didn’t know where he stood on the classic “draft for need” versus “draft best player available” debate. His first round selection of Star Lotulelei told us next to nothing.
The Drive Friday 4-26-13 – Star Lotulelei joins The Drive to talk about his draft day experience, why he thinks he was selected by the Panthers at 14, and we get his thoughts on how he can help the defense.
Bustin Loose: 4-24-13 Michael Felder: Michael Felder talks about what direction the Panthers should go in this weekends draft and who could be a sleeper pick.
The Last Word 3-27-2013 – James Dator, editor of SB Nation’s Cat Scratch Reader, joins Lewis to discuss the Panthers’ recent free agent signings and look ahead to the draft. How will D.J. Moore and Drayton Florence fit in the secondary? Will Ted Ginn improve the Panther’s underperforming special teams unit? Who would be an ideal fit in the draft?
