A look at things to watch in the Atlantic Coast Conference during Week 5 of the season:
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — David Cutcliffe is getting ready to coach against a man he never really got the chance to work with — Charlie Weis.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame is facing the possibility of losing three starters before the football season has even begun after another embarrassing hit for a university that prides itself on high academic standards.
Former Bobcats guard and current radio analyst Matt Carroll joined the guys to recap the chaos of the WFNZ Draft Roundtable last night and to discuss why he feels Doug McDermott is the choice at number 9 for the Hornets
With the growth of the ACC and more teams being put together for rivalry contest; look for new matchups to become classic events.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Women’s basketball came away a winner Sunday night. After a season-long buildup, the NCAA tournament will be decided by the perfect championship game.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Notre Dame’s defense was good enough in the second half against North Carolina to give the short-handed Fighting Irish a chance to end the 14th-ranked Tar Heels’ long winning streak.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — North Carolina was too big and too quick for Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish made seven of their first 13 shots to open a nine-point lead in the first half, but wore down under the pressure of North Carolina’s athleticism. The Tar Heels forced 17 turnovers and had a 44-26 advantage in the paint en route to a 73-62 victory Saturday, their fifth straight win.
Many international destinations close to home may prove to be a better option than South Beach or Miami. Among the best international trips that can be done in a weekend are the Bahamas, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Montreal and Vancouver.
North Carolina State didn’t have any second-half letdown against Notre Dame.
After squandering double-digit leads in two of its previous three games, and nearly doing so in the third, the Wolfpack never led by double digits against the Fighting Irish but also never let the Irish get ahead in the second half in a 77-70 victory Tuesday night.
