Best Ways To Celebrate Passover 2013 With Kids In Charlotte

Passover, or Pesach in Hebrew, is celebrated March 25 to April 2 this year. The origins of Passover centered around ancient Israel spring celebrations of the first grain harvest and the birth of the first lambs. The multi-faith theme of this holiday is redemption. It is a remembrance of the night when God passed over the homes of the Israelites during the tenth plague and the exodus out of slavery in Egypt to freedom. The focus of Pesach is the Seder. It is a symbolic-rich meal completed in 15 steps that tells the story of God’s grace from bondage to freedom. In Charlotte, Passover will be celebrated in homes, community gatherings, temples and churches:

The Bible quote chosen for inclusion, however, came from the New Testament, a book significant Christian faith and not formally recognized by the Jewish tradition.
