CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Panthers announced they’ve extended contract tenders to restricted free agent tackle Byron Bell and exclusive rights free agent guard Chris Scott, two starters from last year’s team.

Last Tuesday Panthers DE Greg Hardy signed his franchise tender as Hardy and his agent try to workout a long-term deal with Carolina. With this move, Hardy is guaranteed his $13 million salary and it applies to the Panthers salary cap immediately. Although mandatory team activities don’t begin for awhile, Hardy is now required to attend them since he signed his tender.
