The world did not come to an end as the Mayans had predicted, so that is good news for the Panthers as they get to play a downtrodden Raiders team on Sunday to close out their home schedule. After a brutal start to the season, Carolina is one win away from matching their record from a year ago and have a chance to better it with one game remaining on the docket.
If there is one area that Cam Newton has been able to excel this year, it is in the world of Madison Avenue. Not only does the 23-year-old quarterback have his own line of clothing, but he has also been plastered all over the airwaves in a series of commercials––one for the NFL that will have you in stitches.
You have to hand it to the Panthers for figuring out who is to blame for their latest defeat. It wasn’t the offense for failing to get a first down late in the game and it surely wasn’t the fault of the defense that could not stop the Buccaneers not once but three straight times late in the game. That honor went to Justin Medlock, who had the unmitigated gall to miss a field goal with 2:42 left – in the FIRST half.
So last night I went to my first Bobcats game to see what all the fuss, or lack thereof, was this season. A few words came to mind as I watched the Bobcats taking on the Bulls: lackluster, uninspired and pathetic. So here is my recap of one of the worst basketball games I have ever seen.
