Lewis Woodard Talks Trade Rumors and NBA Draft With Spencer Percy Of QC Hoops

Spencer Percy of ESPN’s Queen City Hoops blog joins Lewis to break down the Clifford hire, talk trade rumors and look forward to the 2013 NBA Draft. Should we be concerned about Steve Clifford’s lack of NBA head coaching experience? What will associate head coach Patrick Ewing add to the organization? Would trading for DaMarcus Cousins or Chris Bosh be a smart move? And if the Bobcats can’t trade their draft pick, who is the best case scenario at 4th?

Bosh Trade Wouldn’t Make Sense For Charlotte Or Miami

First and foremost, it’s not financially responsible. Bosh makes $61.7 million over the next three years of his deal. Even if the Bobcats amnesty Tyrus Thomas, paying Bosh $20M per year is going to clog a salary cap they’ve been working diligently to clean up. Is Bosh worth a third of the cap, every year? Doubtful. He’s on a four year streak where his scoring and rebounding have declined each season.
