Chris “Mac” McClain
fter a day of discussing it on the air and much careful deliberation, here is my NBA All Time team. Unlike Celania, I am not cheating. Every guy is put in my lineup at their natural position.
When we talked to former Nova coach turned analyst Steve Lappas on the show today, he told us it wasn’t fair to blame Gregg Popovich for the loss because he has been such a good coach in his career. By the rationale, any great person in any field has never failed in their life.
Rick Bonnell had an intersting tidbit in the Observer recently. He has a source who says that Kentucky big man Nerlens Noel might fall in the draft all the way to the Bobcats at #4. The reason given is his knee injury.
Ok, I will admit when I heard that Coach of the Year George Karl had been fired, my first thought was, “Did the Bobcats hire a coach too soon?”
Mac Attack weekly contributor Mike Florio will unveil his and the fans’ choices for the 4 spots on The Panthers Mt. Rushmore. After much talk about it on today’s show and some deliberation. Here are my Fab Four…….
Panthers QB Cam Newton says he is working hard to prove to the team he is worthy of being named captain for the first time in his NFL career. Considering the fact that 18 of the 23 teams that had season long captains last year had QBs as offensive captains, I am surprised this topic is so polarizing.
Full disclosure; I didn’t think Mike Dunlap deserved to be fired. But, I also didn’t think he should have been hired in the first place. My reason was simple: lack of experience in the NBA game.
On Friday’s Mac Attack, NASCAR took a beating from fans who claimed “it isn’t as good as it used to be.” I agreed on a variety of fronts. Things like the advantage of clean air for the leader at cookie cutter tracks, lack of a true blue collar driver and the long schedule all bother me.
Alright Charlotte sports fans, we now have the name we want for our NBA team. But, we don’t have the pick we want. For the second year in a row, the NBA Draft lottery leaves us feeling like Frank Garcia when he loses the office pool (a ton of extra entries, but still lost).
Ok, I readily admit that we are getting to the point of the sports calender where I really begin jonesin’ for some football, but there are some really good options this Saturday and Sunday.
