Knowing Len was born in Brooklyn & raised on Long Island makes it easy to understand his love for the following teams; the Mets, Giants, Knicks & Rangers. What’s not easy to understand is his love & loyalty to the Miami Dolphins. Until you find out his favorite football player ever was Dan Marino. Throw in Tom Seaver, Dwight Gooden, Patrick Ewing & Mark Messier & you just created his own personal Sports Hall Of Fame.
After graduating from Towson University (that’s right, the same school that produced another WFNZ host Chris McClain), Len got his first break in radio as a Weekend Board Operator at Sports Radio 570 WTEM (now ESPN 980) in Washington DC. At WTEM, in the midst of dubbing countless commercials & screening phone calls, Len got to rub elbows with some of best known personalities in sports radio.
After spending two years at The Team in DC, Len got a break to move South & join Sports Radio 560 WQAM in Miami. In Miami, he got a chance to change his responsibilities by eventually becoming a Reporter & Fill-In Host. Covering teams in Miami meant being a part of some of that city’s biggest sports moments including Dan Marino’s retirement, two Florida Marlins World Series titles & the Miami Heat’s first NBA title.
Len’s ten year experience at Sports Radio 560 led to his next opportunity ESPN 1430 in Blacksburg, Virginia. Being at ESPN 1430 meant wearing many hats but the main one was hosting a daily show & a 2 hour pre-game show prior to each Virginia Tech football game.
Since September 2009, Len has been a host on WFNZ, filling in during the week & each weekend hosting the show, The Weekend Warriors.
