Time Warner Cable Arena, built by the City of Charlotte and operated by Bobcats Sports & Entertainment, is home of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats, the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers and is the city of Charlotte and surrounding area’s premier destination for top-rated concerts and events. Referred to as a “celebration of gathering,” Time Warner Cable Arena boasts of scenic entry ways and corridors. With its open walkways, terraces and exposed staircases, visitors are encouraged to partake in conversation as the design continuously provides connectivity and and a strong sense of community. The public art and unique displays offer opportunities for dialogue as well as excitement of events and monumental and extraordinary times of “yesteryear”. They also pay tribute to the region’s rich sports and commercial history. Time Warner Cable Arena cares about the environmental and has implemented several initiatives when it comes to “going green.” For example, all break room faucets have added a low flow adapters which, when combined with sensor faucets and flush valves already in place in the restrooms throughout the building; because of this, the arena will conserve water usage by up to 32%.
Also, the partnership with Coca-Cola Consolidated, affords the arena more than 150 receptacles for recycling aluminum cans and plastic bottles, which are distributed throughout the arena to help fans and staff keep those items out of landfills while returning them to the recycling process. All employees also now have paper recycling bins under their desks.
Perhaps the most dominant visual element in the arena’s seating bowl is the state-of-the-art scoreboard. The center-hung video box displays the scores of some of the country’s most exciting sporting contests, while showing live video of current performances and entertainment. The scoreboard is also the most technologically advanced scoreboard and sound system in the country and features the largest video screen in use in any NBA facility. It is a full-screen LED device that provides unlimited configuration of live and recorded video, scores, animation and graphics.There is also a three-dimensional back lit cityscape above the scoreboard, which features the Charlotte skyline and uses a 360-degree projection system that allows the skyline to change. A multitude of graphs can be displayed as well.
Guests are invited to engage in the full of experience of the amenities at Time Warner Cable Arena. From places to party to picturesque palaces for socialization; all are found within the confines of Time Warner Cable Arena. The ever popular ” Rock the Rooftop” is the ultimate in the fan zone experience. Located up in the Uptown Concourse that is open to the bowl for the ultimate in indoor tailgating, it includes a kid’s interactive area and a food and beverage menu with wonderful culinary choices to help jump-start any gathering.
The Team Store
Searching for that perfect Bobcats baseball cap? Or how about a Charlotte Checkers t-shirt for that adoring fan? You will find it all in the Team Store at Time Warner Cable Arena. The Team Store features premiere and authentic sports and event paraphernalia. A wide assortment of team apparel ranging from mouse pads to blankets can be found at the store. Located on the south side of the arena bordering Trade Street, fans can access the Team Store from the arena’s Trade Street Plaza and to arena guests on the Club Concourse outside of Section 107.
