Discovery Place in Charlotte is the place where the senseless can make sense and connections to the past and future can make for groundbreaking presence. The Museum

An amazing world of science is unveiled within the museum of Discovery Place. Exhibits are explosive as well as educational, immeasurably magnificent as well as informative. “Race: Why Are We So Different”, for example is an exhibit that answers questions of genetics and human existence. The inquisitive visitor can better understand the origins and impact of race as well as racism. Exploration of human thought and thoughts are scientifically explained. Other exhibits include interactive components that explore the earth’s biodiversity, chemistry, physics and biology. Each exhibit gives participants a well-rounded understanding of concepts through audio presentations, cinema and presentations.

Discovery 3D Theatre

Here is the place where it is truly fun to have four eyes! Discovery 3D Theatre, the new, stat of the art digital movie experience at Discovery Place combines fun, education and a 3D cinema experience like no other. Through exploration of topics within the realms of science, nature and mathematics, participants are able to literally have eye-popping fun and exploration!

The Charlotte Observer IMAX Dome Theater

This is the movie theater that places you inside the movie! topics range from learning about tornadoes and mountains to animals and various cultures throughout the world. With the largest movie screen in the Carolinas, you can be assured a memorable movie experience!

Field Trips and On-Site Classes

Are you an educator, looking to expand the lessons of the day or the week? Look no further! Discovery Place offers special trips and outings that an entire class of children can enjoy, learn and benefit from. Classes are taught by Discovery Place educators and are available for all age groups from Pre K through Grade 8.All curriculum aligns with North Carolina Standard Course of Study and National Science Standards.There is also information about lunch options, cancellations and refund policies and activities. Family Workshops And Summer Camps

For children, leaning can be a family affair at Discovery Place. As summer camps and family workshops are offered, they encompass participation from every family member. The “Mommy and Me and Tot Time Program” not only helps moms to bond with their children, but everyone walks away having spent the day learning with family support and assistance close at hand. Public Transit and Parking

Lynx Blue Line stop at 7th St. station is just two blocks from Discovery Place. A parking lot is also available for those who choose to drive. The Discovery Place Parking Garage is located directly behind the Museum at the corner of Church and Sixth Streets in uptown Charlotte.Enter the deck off of Sixth Street, take a ticket from the automatic attendant and pay inside the Museum at any of the Admissions Desks.
