Five Things You Missed
Many of the early-season tournaments wrapped up this past weekend. Along with Duke’s win (see below), No. 17 Gonzaga won the Old Spice Classic in Orlando behind 24 points and 10 rebounds from Elias Harris, and Doug McDermott scored 29 to lead No. 14 Creighton over Arizona State in the Las Vegas Invitational final. There were also a pair of shocking upsets this weekend.
It seems like the college basketball season starts earlier and earlier every year. Games are being played all over the world, in arenas and on boats, but with football still going strong, much of the excitement gets lost in the shuffle. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
