I was out of town for a few days this week for a family matter and no one there wanted to hear what I had to say about the Panthers. I had to hold it in. Until now.

With the Panthers ‘evaluating’ Steve Smith and his role on the team next season, the team has options if they decide it’s time to part ways with one of the all-time greats. Which method they choose will have an impact on both the salary caps for this year and next.
Last nights UNC-State game was a classic. We saw two great players go at it in a big time duel. Some great effort. Awesome crowd. And, of course some drama from the refs. These are a few of my takeaways from last night’s tilt.
Yeah, we talked about it for 4 hours today, but it is not out of my system yet. These are the reasons UNC came from 11 down to beat Duke on Thursday night.
Both teams come into this game playing good basketball. Duke has won 7 of 8 and the Heels 5 in a row. They are the top two teams in the country since January 21 according to ESPN’s BPI Rankings. I expect the result to be a tight game tonight and another great chapter in the UNC-Duke rivalry. The outcome of the game hinges on these things……
Yes, it is Super Bowl weekend, but it also is a pretty big Basketball weekend in the ACC. I’ve already jinxed….errr picked the Broncos in the Super Bowl. But, here are my thoughts on how Duke-Cuse and State-UNC will play out
