One could argue that this has been the most unpredictable tournament in NCAA history. A fifteen seed, Florida Gulf Coast, made it to the sweet sixteen, numerous double digit seeds won in the first round, and three #1 seeds have been sent packing.
Miami vs Marquette: The loss of Reggie Johnson is a big one. Literally and figuratively. I love Buzz Williams, and the way Marquette battles, but I’m taking Shane Larkin. I think he’s the most clutch […]
First off, I hate what happened to Davidson in the final minute yesterday. People will say they choked, and sure, the errant pass out of bounds didn’t help, but credit Marquette. They hit three totally contested 3 pointers during that span. Bob McKillop’s program experienced the best of the tournament five years ago, and now the worst.
12:15 in Auburn Hills, Michigan: Midwest Region. CBS 3 Michigan St vs 14 Valporaiso: it’s great to have Bryce Drew back in the tournament, this time as a head coach, but I’ll take Izzo all […]
THU 3/14: Boise State’s loss to San Diego State puts them in serious danger of missing the field. As of this moment I have them as my last team in the tournament, but there are plenty of teams that could pass them in the next 48 to 72 hours.
Every year I try to correctly predict who will make it into the tournament. I will give you my final predictions next Sunday before the selection show. But until then, I will provide a daily update on who I feel would make it at this moment. In the last five years I’ve missed 1, 1, 0, 2, and 1.
While State has the most talent and Duke has the best resume, North Carolina is the Triangle team that has impressed me the most this season. When they were 0-2 in the ACC, or 3-3, or even 6-5, you wonderted if Roy Williams would make his second appearance in four seasons in the NIT.
I am a huge Rory McIlroy fan. I love his talent, his humility, and how approachable he is. I’ll forever be grateful for the time he gave me for an interview in the Augusta National […]
I never thought NC State would be a final four contender, and I certainly don’t today. But I did think they would continually be in the top 25, and be a lot better than 8-6 in a conference that is far from being the best.
The Daytona 500 Sun at 1pm: It’s still The Super Bowi of Motorsports. With a brand new car I’m very curious to see how aggressive the racing is. There was an early wreck in the first testing session last month, an early wreck in practice last week, and an early wreck in the Unlimited race last weekend. No matter how aggressive they are, you would certainly expect the racing to be four wide anc crazy once there’s ten laps to go.
