He will never admit it, but the ole’ ball coach somewhere down deep in his soul even had to admire the performance he saw in the sweltering heat of Williams Brice Stadium on college football’s opening night.

Johnny who?

That’s right, who needs Johnny when you got Kenny.

44-60, 511yds and 3 touchdowns were the numbers for Kenny Hill as he sliced and diced the Gamecock defense into submission and sent many of the shocked Gamecock faithful to the exits buy the start of the 4th quarter.

If you are a South Carolina fan, this was not what you had in mind for the opening of the 2014 campaign.

SEC Championship, a spot in the initial 4 team playoff is what the talk has been in Columbia.

Today, the talk will be can the Gamecock defense even slow down East Carolina next week.

Breaking news just in, Jadeveon Clowney will NOT be running through the smoke as 2001 blares thru the loudspeakers so the secondary may have to learn to cover someone.

As for Kenny football, he now has burst onto the national landscape, he now has Heisman odds attached to his name but I do not think he has any commercials yet.

The bad news for him….. he may only get the one shot at the Gamecocks this year.

His team looks like a better bet to make it to Atlanta than the one he threw the ball around the yard against does, but it is just week one.
