We have reached the midway point of the 2014 preseason, notice I did not call it exhibition I know that Roger does not like it when we say that.  So here are just a few things that have caught my eye so far with the Panthers.

1-  The starting offensive line may not be offensive after all.  I know it is just a couple of games and already a couple of injuries have occurred on the right side but Byron Bell has done a nice job at LT and IF Turner and Chandler are back by week 1, this line could surprise in a good way.

2-  Ron Rivera is still bothered by the lack of composure in last year’s playoff loss to the 49ers.  Need proof, look at the way he handled Josh Norman’s woofing contest with Dwayne Bowe and his talking to of Kelvin Benjamin at the end of the 1st half against the Chiefs.  The coach is emphatic that this will not contribute to losses this season.

3-  The return game is still a work in progress.  Can Philly Brown or anybody step up and grab this position for their very own?  What about Barner as a possibility?  Oh never mind, where is Michael Bates when you need him?

4-  Cam and the receivers are going to be okay.  I am not saying that they are going to be the second coming of Marino and the Marx Brothers but I think by season’s end, they will not have been the reason this team just misses the playoffs.

5-  Brad Nortman maybe the most underrated  weapon the Panthers have.  I know he is a punter, but with this defense he can help put them in some great positions as far as field position is concerned.

Just 2 more games to game folks.  Hang in there, we are almost to the finish line.
