Man Jailed On $2 million Bond On Sex Charges
LEXINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Authorities in Davidson County say a Thomasville man is jailed under a $2 million bond after he was charged with seven counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The Thomasville Police Department said 24-year-old Jonathan Alan Weaver committed the offenses Wednesday. Police said in the arrest warrants that Weaver distributed and solicited unknown Internet users with material containing a visual representation of minors.
Police conducted a month-long investigation before executing a search warrant at Weaver’s house regarding child pornography.
Also, police said agents with the Department of Homeland Security will also pursue federal charges, as well.
Weaver was scheduled for a first court appearance Thursday. Jail records didn’t indicate he had an attorney.
