Fayetteville Shooting Suspect Had 2 Wives
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A man who authorities say killed two members of his family by spraying his father-in-law’s Fayetteville home with bullets was married to two different women.
Authorities released the 911 calls made by Andrew Michaelis’ wife in North Carolinsa. She told operators that Michaelis held a gun to her head and a knife to her throat before she managed to run from the house. She also has told investigators that she knew her husband was married to another woman.
A short time later, investigators say Michaelis drove to the home of his wife’s father and fired dozens of rounds, killing his 61-year-old father-in-law Gary Simpson, and Simpson’s 10-year-old grandson.
Deputies chased Michaelis into some woods, where he died from a gunshot. Three deputies were also hurt, but are recovering.
