Police Arrest Man In Connection With Child’s Death
WILSON, N.C. (AP) — Wilson police say they have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 7-year-old boy who died when someone shot into his home.
Wilson police said Thursday they have charged 24-year-old Montavius Davis of Stantonsburg with first-degree in the death of Kamari Jones. Kamari was inside his home when he was shot July 23.
Neighbors reported seeing a man between two duplexes firing shots across the street. Family members said Kamari was playing video games in his bedroom when he was shot.
Davis is being held without bond. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.
Kamari’s funeral will be held Friday afternoon at Peace Church.
