Panthers’ Cam Newton Grants “Mighty George” His Make-A-Wish!
This week is ESPN’s Make-A-Wish week where kids who are battling life-threatening diseases get the chance to make their dreams come true and meet their favorite athletes.
Six-year-old George Gring of Houston, Texas, who has battled lymphoma and treatments of chemotherapy, had the opportunity to meet his favorite player Cam Newton and play with his team the Carolina Panthers.
“Football became a huge part of our treatment and our life in the hospital,” says George’s mom.
The Carolina Panthers drafted ‘Mighty George’ this season and Newton called himself to personally invite George to practice with the team at Bank of America Stadium. George got a TON of great Panthers swag including matching gold Under Armour shoes that Cam wears. Plus, Cam even shows him how to make a mean game face!
