COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) A former Isle of Palms police officer has been arrested after authorities say she pawned and sold items from the department’s evidence room.

The State Law Enforcement Division said Tuesday that 45-year-old Dawn Michelle Caldwell is charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent over $2,000 and misconduct in office.

SLED said in a release that between December 2009 and December 2013, Caldwell pawned and sold items taken from the evidence room at the Isle of Palms police department. She is also accused of selling her department issued Glock pistol.

Officials said the items pawned and sold carried a value of more than $2,000.

A SLED spokesman wasn’t immediately available for additional comment Tuesday, and Caldwell’s status wasn’t immediately known.
