I don’t have a t-shirt or slogan made up for him like one of my co-workers, I am not standing outside Rich Cho’s door everyday screaming his name, and I am not going to be devestated if he is not selected.

But I would like to see the Hornets tale Michigan’s Nik Stauskas with the 9th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

This franshise, be it the Bobcats or now Hornets has been void of a pure dead eye shooter for a long time now and since Dell Curry is probably not going to come out of retirement any time soon, Stauskas seems to me to be the right fit for this team.

Will he win any most athletic in the NBA awards? No.

Will he win any best defensive player awards in the NBA?  Probably not.

Could you see him providing instant offense and putting a severe fear into the other side?  You betcha.

There are other options of course, Doug McDermott, Gary Harris, and others.  There are trade options as well which I would not be opposed to, but if you are keeping the pick Stauskas is my guy.

I am not the biggest fan of showboating but Stauskas has just enough of it to give him a little swagger which the Hornets could certainly use.

Again no steamboats here, just a hope that the Hornets take a shot with Stauskas, my guess is that he will hit his shot if given the chance.
