Steph Curry Talks NBA Finals Outcome & Curry Celebrity Golf Classic
Golden State Warrior guard & former Davidson superstar Stephen Curry stopped by our first show of “Primetime with Chris Kroeger” to talk about the outcome of the NBA Finals & the importance of the Curry Celebrity Golf Classic at River Run Country Club.
As rained poured outside Seth talked about his families golf tournament, his time at Davidson college, and his time in the NBA.
“Whenever I get to go home [from California] and visit my roots having a tournament like this supporting the community it’s huge.” Going on their fifth year the Curry Celebrity Classic has raised over $300,00 since its first year and all proceeds go to help the Ada Jenkins Community Center. Playing in the Southern Conference Tournament, Davidson faced many hometown favorites including Appalachian State. Chris Kroeger is an App alumni and remembers when Curry came to play at Appalachian. Twice the Home Center had sold out. Once with Carolina playing their and the other being Curry’s last season playing for the Davidson Wildcats.
Curry is going on his sixth year in the NBA and is settling in to his professional basketball status. “I feel like I can continue to get better” Curry said when talking about his first playoff experience in the NBA. Curry was surprised about the outcome of the NBA Finals with how well the Spurs played saying that “they had the weapons and had guys show up every single night”. Curry is confident that the Golden State Warriors can represent the West in the coming NBA Finals even though they are going through a coaching staff change. “We can capitalize on this opportunity”.
