The 2014 Speed Street Takes Over Uptown Charlotte

The Coca-Cola 600 is coming up and that means one thing, NASCAR is taking over uptown Charlotte.

The 2014 Speed Street event will be held May 22-24th and is the tune up to the longest race of the year.

Uptown Charlotte will be turned into one of the Southeast largest festivals as Speed Street makes this their 20th Anniversary.

Speed Street brings live music, exhibits, vendors, show cars and appearances from celebrities and NASCAR drivers past and present right to the heart of the city.

One of the great things about this event is that it is all FREE! Its great for people of all ages so don’t hesitate to bring the kids. The three day event usually brings in hundreds of thousands of people to the Uptown Charlotte area.

Speed Street will offer live music from groups like:

Who’s Bad (Michael Jackson tribute band)

Backbeat (Beatles tribute band)

Thompson Square

38 Special

The event will have guest appearances from guys like:

Tony Stewart, Austin Dillon, Joey Logano, Ernie Irvan, Donnie Allison and many more in the NASCAR community.

So put it on your schedule to come out to your backyard and enjoy some great entertainment, food, and events. The festival starts  Thursday, May 22 and runs through Saturday, May 25 Noon to 11 p.m. each day.
