Greg Gabriel: Joel Bitonio Is Similar To Jordan Gross
Greg Gabriel, who was in the NFL for almost three decades in the front office, now writes for National Football Post, and he joined the Mac Attack to discuss the Panthers, the draft, some wide receivers, offensive tackles and his former colleagues, Dave Gettleman and Ron Rivera.
On Dave Gettleman: He’s one of the finest people I know and he’s always good to make you laugh. Atremendous guy and I have a huge amount of respect for him.
On who the Panthers might take in the first round: Figuring out who’s going to be there can be tough. I don’t think they’ll have a good idea of what they’ll be looking at until you get to the 20th-21st pick.
On offensive tackles that might be available at pick 28: My favorite in the group would be Joel Bitonio. He’s athletic, he’s got some nastiness to him. He’s similar to Jordan Gross, about the same size coming out of college, and he’s a versatile player. Some people see him as a guard. He’s not a real big wide butt type of guy, but he’s athletic and can use his hands. he’s got a lot of upside. I’m hearing four offensive tackles could go in the top 10.
