A week before the NFL Draft 2014 begins, WFNZ assembled an incredible pre-draft party with expert panelists breaking down players by position along with great food & beer from All-American Pub in Southend.

ESPN’s Draft expert Kevin Weidel, Carolina Panthers Tight End Greg Olsen, Charlotte Observer’s Tom Sorensen, & WFNZ jocks Marc James, Colin Hoggard, Mark Yarbro, & Chris McClain discussed the best (and worst) picks  for this year along with strategies on what the Carolina Panthers and other NFL teams should do with their 1-7 round picks.

Watch our episodes as they are released throughout the week before the NFL Draft begins so you can get a feel of different players the Panthers and your favorite team can pick this year!

SEE PICTURES HERE from the WFNZ NFL Pre-Draft Party!

Quarterbacks:

Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel has been the main focus for this year’s list of quarterbacks in 2014.  Find out where our panel thinks Manziel along with Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater, UCF’s Blake Bortles, and more!  And should the Carolina Panthers draft a quarterback anywhere in the draft?

Wide Receivers:

For the Carolina Panthers at the #28 pick, the NFL Draft is deep with talented wide receivers.  USC’s Marqise Lee, Florida State’s Kelvin Benjamin, Brandin Cooks, & others are all options for the Panthers to take in the second half of the first round.  Plus, Greg Olsen talks about the qualities that a wide receiver should have in the NFL to make him elite.

Picking Team’s Need vs. Best Player On Board

What is the best philosophy for a team in drafting a player to either fill a need for a position or picking the best player on the board even if you’re covered well in that position.  Find out a linebacker Kevin Weidel thinks that if the Carolina Panthers pick, then their front seven defense will be the best in the league.

Tackles

Morgan Moses from Virginia has been named numerous times as a potential first round pick for the Carolina Panthers.  Find some other options for the team if he’s not there on the board.  Plus, Greg Olsen talks about Byron Bell’s role on the team and how he will fill the role of retired OT Jordan Gross.

Closing Remarks

The panelists offer their final outlooks on the Carolina Panthers’ and other team strategies & picks going into this week’s NFL Draft.
