A ‘Thank You’ To The Charlotte Bobcats
Before the 2013-14 season gets away from us here in the Queen City, I just wanted to take a moment to simply say thanks.
Thanks to the Charlotte Bobcats for bringing back pride and excitement to a city that has been missing those two things when it has come to its NBA franchise in the last several years.
Ever since Bob Johnson decided to bring the NBA back to Charlotte, this city has been reluctant to open it’s hearts and arms again for fear that it would just get let down again, or perhaps the other reason has been that the product just has been rotten.
Two years ago, seven wins in a lockout shortened season made this city a laughing stock when it came to pro hoops.
We became the butt of jokes locally and even nationally, heck the Bobcats were even mentioned in an episode of Entrouage but of course not in a particularly positive light.
But this year has been different.
The additions of Steve Clifford and Al Jefferson has brought results beyond anybody’s wildest imagination and has helped land the Cats back in the playoffs, just two years removed from that dreadful 7-59 train wreck.
So as the playoffs make their way back to Charlotte, for no other reason, even if you don’t really think that they can rally to beat the almighty Heat, show up at the “cable box” for the next two games just to say thanks.
Hey this beats breaking down the Panthers draft and schedule for the 83rd time right?
