The decision came today from Jabari Parker that he will enter the NBA draft. It had been an all but done decision until the past few weeks, when many people believe Parker would return to Duke for his sophomore season. But was it really ever in doubt? You have the chance at being a top 3 pick in the draft and many people the number 1 overall pick; why would you return to college basketball? The answer came today, you don’t.

Parker leaves a program (Duke) that is bringing in the best recruiting class in the country and will most likely be changing the way they play. I am sure this is one of the several conditions that Parker considered when making his decision. But the decision is so difficult in the current system for a sure thing pick to turn down millions and risk a return to college ball. If there ever was going to be a sure top pick turn down the glamour that is the NBA dollars it would have been Parker. This can only strengthen the argument of the weaken decline that is college basketball.

The future of Jabari Parker is bright and the future of college basketball and how it handles the one-and-done era remains forever fogged. We leave you with some reaction to the departure of Jabari Parker from Duke to the NBA.
