Police: Man Defecates In Lobby Of Charleston Hotel
CHARLESTON, S.C. (CBS Charlotte) – A South Carolina man created a big stink when he defecated in the lobby of a Charleston hotel, reports WCIV-TV.
Police say 31-year-old Ronnie Lee Warfield of Goose Creek was unable to enter the code for the restroom door, so he took off his pants and voided his bowels on the lobby floor of the swanky Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston.
Hotel employees said they watched the disgusting incident on a security camera.
When officers arrived they found a “large quantity of fecal matter” on the lobby floor just a few feet from the bathroom, according to the police report.
An officer found Warfield cleaning himself in a bathroom stall. The report says the stall door was open and Warfield was exposing himself to anyone who walked in.
“I didn’t mean to do it,” he told the officer. “I couldn’t hold it.”
Police arrested Warfield after he put his pants back on.
While employees were giving statements to other officers, Warfield reportedly interrupted and said “I can clean it up.”
Workers turned over security footage to the authorities and asked that Warfield be banned from the hotel.
Warfield has been charged with public defecation and indecent exposure. His bond was set at $940.
