Vinny Cerrato: Kelvin Benjamin Scares Me As A 1st Round Pick
Vinny Cerrato, former Washington Redskins GM, now with CBS Radio, joined Mac and Jim to discuss the NFL Draft.
On the Wunderlic test: Agents all have the test, so when a kid get a score, it doesn’t so a lot for me. If a guy gets a low score, it raises a red flag, it doesn’t eliminate him, but it makes me want to send my QB coach and offensive coordinator to spend time with them.
On Johnny Manziel: You have to be able to adapt your whole offense to him. Are you willing to change that? Because you have to let him do what he does well. I still want to find out about him off the field, the immaturity. Does my offense fit him and off the field, those would be my questions. On the field, I love his compete.
On the Wide Receiver Crop: If Odell Beckham Jr. was there, I like him a lot, but I don’t think he’ll be there. The Panthers could be picking the 6th or 7th wide receiver. Brandin Cooks, if he was there, I like him. Benjamin scares me. Apparently he has off the field issues and a low score, that scares me.
On Offensive Tackle: You’re not going to get value at tackle, picking at 28. Very rarely, will you get a left tackle who can come in and start for you. I really like Cyrus Kouandjio, he’s a first round talent on tape, but I talked to a coach, with his knees, two years is probably all he can make it and you can’t invest that in a first round pick.
