Scott Wright from joins the Mac Attack to discuss the Panthers draft options in next month’s NFL Draft, including several specific wide receiver options and offensive tackles.

On the Panthers trading up for Clemson WR Sammy Watkins: I don’t think it’s a smart move and I don’t think it’s realistic. It’s pretty rare to see a team move up that far. They need multiple receivers, they need those extra draft picks.

On drafting wide receivers: I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them use two of their first three picks on wide receivers. Not only because they desperately need help at the position, but there’s really good depth. Wideout might be the strongest position in this entire draft.

On Florida State WR Kelvin Benjamin: Of the [second tier] group (behind Watkins and Mike Evans), he’d be the guy who intrigues me the most. Had he gone back for one more year, he might’ve been a top 5, top 10 pick a year from now.

On second round options: That’s where the depth comes in. There are some who would be first round picks most years.

On the offensive tackles: That second tier of offensive tackles has taken a hit in recent weeks. Keep an eye on Joe Botonio from Nevada. He’s in my top 32 overall. He can play tackle, guard and he’s a very good athlete.

On Virginia OT Morgan Moses: He’s probably more of a right tackle type, but left tackle mught be atretch for him.
