Pat Forde joined The Drive this afternoon and talked about college basketball, the NCAA Tournament and breaks down the draft choices.

When you look at the landscape of the college basketball season, many of the teams left make you scratch your head.

“Baylor has caught fire…Michigan State….if you’ve you got talent there is always still a chance.” But college basketball remains so hard to predict.

“That’s part of what makes this tournament so fascinating and makes it aggravating…”

Kentucky has started playing better, and John Calipari has turned this freshman squad into a team.

“He talked about tweaking the offense…..he wanted them to believe.”

This game will have everyone relocated for the upcoming game. “It would be like if Duke/Carolina were playing in the final four or NCAA Tournament.” Neither team can be called a success they both need this game.

I didn’t think NC State deserved to be in the tournament, but they surprised everyone. They played very well and then they underachieved by giving a game away that you have won.

“I expected them to have a better season then they did I thought they were a little bit of a disappointment.”

North Carolina had a season with up and downs. Iowa State missing one of their best players due to a broken foot.

“I thought Iowa was going to win it…the way they did it in the blown lead.” Carolina had some really strange games this season. “You never knew what you were going to get from week to week.”

Duke has had some very ugly NCAA Tournament loses. ” This is a program where you have to do some rebuilding.” What are the problems with the defense with this program and are they soft? “Yeah I think that’s a fair label.” Duke just got tossed around by teams and the freshman coming in will have holes in their games. “It’s nice to have a third Plumlee but he looks like the least capable Plumlee.” Jabari Parker staying or going, “he should go.”

Andrew Wiggins needs to be more assertive. Julis Randle is a go get it kind of player. “Fearlessness motor..”  Pat Forde is the new general manager of a team he would go for what guy? “I would probably take Embiid……if there is an issue I go Parker. He’s a competitor.”

Great ratings for the tournament and CBS. “The tournament delivers time and time again.” So many great moments and game and the one I say proved that Wichita State was for real. “….Wichita State is legit and anybody that didn’t buy is wrong.”

Between Baylor and Dayton you have to look out for Baylor. “They have NBA talent and size…they underachieved…” I would take Florida, Arizona and Michigan State but I believe Kentucky is coming out of the West. ” It’s a bad match up for the champs, a bad match up…..Louisville is small and Kentucky’s biggest strength is it’s size.”

Pat Forde gave Marc James some great places to eat while in Dallas. “BBQ need to go to Smoke.”
