St. Patrick’s Day: Best Green Cocktails and Irish Drink Recipes

Here are some great “Green Cocktails” to enjoy on St. Patrick’s Day.

With the luck of the Irish right around the corner you only have a few days to prepare.

If you are going out or staying at home don’t be afraid to try something a little “Green”. These are just a few of my favorites…

The Emerald

Ingredients: 2 oz. Irish whiskey, 1 oz. Italian vermouth, 1 dash orange bitters

Directions: Stir well with cracked ice, then strain into a chilled martini glass

Green Dublin Apple Cocktail

Ingredients: 2 oz. Irish whiskey, 1 oz. sour apple Schnapps, 2 oz. white cranberry juice

Directions: Pout into a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a fresh apple slice

The Token Irishman

Ingredients: 2 oz. Irish whiskey, 3 drops Fee Brothers Mint Bitters, 5-6 sprigs of fresh mint, 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice, 1/2 oz. simple syrup, a splash of soda water

Directions: Set aside one sprig of mint. Muddle the rest with the simple syrup. Add the rest of the ingredients, shake and strain over ice into an old fashioned glass. Add a splash of soda water and garnish with the remaining mint sprig.

Shamrock Shaker

Ingredients: 1 ½ ounces Kahlua coffee liqueur, ½ ounce amaretto liqueur, 2 ½ milk and green & gold powder garnish (used on cakes).

Directions: Pour the ingredients into cocktail glass with ice, shake, and strain into chilled glass. Garnish with gold and green powder.

Lucky Tart

Ingredients: 2 ounces Tequila, 1 ounce Sour Apple Pucker, ¼ ounce Melon Liqueur, 1 ounce Fresh Lime Juice and 2 lime wheels garnish.

Directions: Build in a traditional margarita glass over ice. Float lime wheels on top for garnish and taste.

Frozen Grasshopper

Ingredients: 3/4 ounce Crème de Menthe,(green), ¾ ounce white Crème de Carcao, 2 cups vanilla Ice Cream, 4 ice cubes, Fresh mint to garnish.

Directions: Mix all ingredients except mint leaves together in blender and blend until drink has the consistency of a good milk shake. Garnish and indulge.
