Recently Retired NFL Linebacker London Fletcher Talks Life After Football.  Fletcher also touches on free agency, his time in Washington and where the NFL is headed.  What are London Fletcher’s thoughts on the Steve Smith saga?

Fletcher ave great insight into what he sees as building a team and comments on the Steve Smith situation. “…doesn’t feel like I’m retiring it’s just career transitioning.”

Coming into the league as an undrafted free agent, he wanted to just make the practice squad and he became the Rams rookie of the year.

Fletcher mentioned that the combine shows how a guy competes and lets you question if he translates from the film.

When asked about getting through a career and his consecutive streak. “….my consecutive streak should be more…..” Coaching is something down the road or at the high school level is a possibility.

Fletcher seems to be Love the small town feel that Charlotte gives my family. “The weather was an attraction for us…….great place to raise our family.”

With free agency happening, London mentions the best way to do things and how you build through the draft.

“I think it’s a combination of both…..you want to identify great young talent, especially with the first three rounds. With free agency you feel in pieces here and there…..”

After retiring you just reflect on everything from the successes and teammates, he mentioned that he feels happy with decision and ready for the next phase.

London says he watches the Panthers and that his son is a Panthers fan. Carolina needs to hit their free throws. I’m getting ready for tournament time. There will be things happening in the Charlotte community with his foundation which is now in Washington D.C. area.

He has been doing things with his foundation “London’s Bridge” for the past 12 years and is very dear to him and will be continuing it here in the Carolina’s.

London wanted to ask one question to Dave Gettleman, “What are you doing?”Said that you have to have things in place and there haven’t been any draft picks that can take over for Steve Smith.
