On this week’s episode of “Old Man Cam,” we dig into the Jim Celania vault to see his story on Eric Heiden during the Winter Olympics at Lake Placid.

On this day (Feb. 20th) in 1980, American former long track speed skater Heiden won all the men’s speed skating races, and thus an unprecedented five individual gold medals

He set four Olympic records and one world record at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, but instead of receiving fame and notoriety, he left it all to be an average joe.

Watch his old interview at the Olympics above.
