There’s Still Room On The ‘Bobcats Playoff Express’
So it’s the beginning of February and I say let’s talk Bobcats basketball.
In most years by now, most would think can we win the lottery, who should be the coach next season, or can we talk NFL Draft instead?
Well this year, thanks to a watered down Eastern Conference and a much improved Bobcats squad, we can actually begin to wonder about dare I say it, PLAYOFFS. Yes let me say that again playoffs, not seeding for the lottery but seeding for the playoffs.
The Bobcats have shown many times this season that they will get knocked down but unlike the past, they have also shown the fight to get back up and not only play with the NBA’s best but beat them as well.
Just as Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson began to develop as lethal a 1-2 punch as there is in the East, Kemba went down with an ankle injury. No problem for the Cats, they won the next 2 games and Al Jefferson along with unexpected help from guys like Ramon Sessions and Jannero Pargo have held things down for the last couple of weeks. Now as Kemba prepares to return, the team has held their ground in the standings and looks like they will continue to do so.
Some would say not this season, it’s too soon. Don’t ruin your chances of finding that franchise guy in a deep lottery in the draft by sliding in as a 7 or 8 seed in the playoffs.
To that I say why not reward this team for their hard work by getting their feet wet in the postseason and give the fans a little reward as well as we look ahead to next year’s rebirth of the Hornets here in Charlotte.
At some point, we all get sick and tired of being sick and tired. The franchise has been sick and tired for a while now.
Kick back and enjoy the chase and hop on board. The Bobcats playoff express still has room for a few more passengers.
