Man Gives Himself $100,000 Pay Raise From His Company
LAURENS, S.C. (AP) — Investigators say a Gray Court man gave himself a raise without permission and took more than $100,000 in extra pay from his company over nearly six years.
Laurens County deputies said 50-year-old Earl Alexander Jr. was charged with two counts of breach of trust.
Authorities said Alexander started stealing from Central Supply Co. of Fountain Inn in January 2008.
Deputies said Alexander gave himself an unauthorized raise and collected $105,000 in extra pay, Authorities say he also used a company credit card to buy $53,000 worth of items for his own use. Investigators say he stole from his employer until November.
Alexander remains in the Laurens County jail. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
