(CBS Charlotte) — A teen has been arrested after an early morning standoff with police in Uptown Charlotte.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officers responded to a robbery call in the Steele Creek area. The victim reported being held at gunpoint during the robbery. The robbers drove of in the victim’s vehicle, but were spotted by officers with the Metro Division a few hours later.

The officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but a pursuit ensued. While the victim reported being carjacked by several men, when police caught up to the stolen vehicle, there was only one suspect in the car. The suspect later crashed the stolen vehicle into a building on Graham St.

After the collision, the suspect fled the scene on foot and hid in a building close to where the vehicle crashed.
