GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — A nonprofit group that supports police officers in Greensboro is holding a special Christmas event.

On Saturday, the Greensboro Police Officers Association is putting on “Christmas with Cops.” Organizers say former and current police officers are partnered up with children less than 16 years of age for a shopping trip to buy holiday and seasonal items.

This year, about 70 children referred through Big Brothers/Big Sisters are part of the program.

The association provides legal and peer support to Greensboro police officers.
