Husband And Wife Dead In NC Murder-Suicide
LEICESTER, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say the death of a husband and wife in their rural Buncombe County home appears to be a murder-suicide.
Deputies say 65-year-old Clyde Cody Jr. and his 64-year-old wife, Hilda, were found dead in their Leicester house around 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Investigators didn’t say who they think fired the fatal shots or give a motive for the deaths.
Buncombe County has had 13 homicides this year, with more than half of them taking place in the past five weeks. The county reported just four homicides in all of 2012.
Sheriff Van Duncan says nearly all of the recent homicides involved people who knew each other.
