In preparation for Duke’s first trip to the ACC Championship game, Mac spoke with starting quarterback and Weddington’s own,  Anthony Boone. Boone emphasized this team’s goal remains to win the ACC, not content with just making it to Charlotte.

On people doubting Duke’s chances against FSU: It doesn’t bother me at all, they’ve doubted us all year long. It hasn’t effected us all year and it’s not now. We’ll let them talk, but they don’t put a helmet on and play with us. Everyone in the program believes in what we’re doing and what we’re building here at Duke. That’s what carries us on Saturday.

On the keys to their great season: We get team wins. Our team feeds off each other, and one unit will pick up another if one unit isn’t doing well. It’s never an individual game, we’re one player takes over. We’re playing together as a unit and players are making plays. We play four quarters and that’s one of our biggest advantages. We’re able to concentrate for the entire game, regardless of the situation, we’re capable of staying focused for the full 60 minutes.

On Coach Cutcliffe: He’s a realist. He doesn’t like taking no for an answer. He’ll do whatever it takes to get something done, whether it’s recruiting, making our facilities top of the line, or giving us every edge that we need to compete for championships. It boils down to the passion and his competitive nature trickling down into our program. It makes us more competitive and it gives us confidence that he has so much confidence in us.

Anthony also discusses how things on campus change with the winning, sustaining success at Duke, and what it will take to beat FSU on Saturday.
