SPARATANBURG, S.Car. (CBS Charlotte) – An argument over macaroni and cheese led to the arrest of a South Carolina man, reports The Smoking Gun.

Alex Rossi, 20, is facing misdemeanor assault and battery charges.

The argument began when Alex’s father, 54-year-old Brian Rossi wanted to make boxed macaroni and cheese, according to a Spartanburg County Sheriff’s report.

Brian told authorities he was angry when he found only pasta inside the boxes and no more cheese packets.

The report says Brian went into the garage to confront his son about using all the cheese packets.

The argument became heated until Alex “ran after him and began to punch him in the face and head,” says the report.

Alex claimed his father punched him first, but deputies noted Alex did not seem to have sustained any injuries.
